Good, Bad and Ugly kits from the past – Exeter City

Exeter’s 1992/93 home shirt

Good – 1992/93 home shirt
This shirt is nothing special but the only good thing about it was that if City wore this then they didn’t subject anyone to their away kit.
You will understand why I think this when you scroll down to the ‘Ugly’ section!

Exeter’s pinstriped home shirt design

Bad – home shirt 1987/88
This home shirt was produced by Lowfields (I’ve never heard of them either!) and was quite a nasty design!
The Football League Yearbook was the design on the front of the red shirt. and the narrow white pinstripes were the design used by a lot of clubs in the 80’s.
Exeter wore the exact same shirt in the previous season but without the Football League Yearbook advert across the front.

My eyes are sore just looking at this!

Ugly – away shirt 1992/93
Do you remember those Magic Eye puzzles where if you looked at a dazzling puzzle for long enough then another picture will appear? Well this definitely has to be one of those designs!
If it’s not a Magic Eye then my second guess is that the sportswear company who made this must have got some inspiration from an Hawaiian shirt. Surprisingly I can’t see who the brand is on the shirt!
