Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy is 37 today. Vardy played in non-league football before joining Leicester City at the age of 25. He signed for The Foxes for £1 million, a record for a non-league player.
Vardy was a crucial player in Leicester’s incredible Premier League-winning team in 2015/16 and won 26 caps for England, scoring seven goals.

Another Leicester City connection is Emile Heskey, who turns 47 today. He spent the first six years of his professional career at Leicester before a big-money move to Liverpool in 2000.
The most famous goal of his career has to have been England’s fifth and final goal in the thrashing of Germany in a World Cup qualifier in 2001. In all, Heskey won 62 caps for England, scoring seven goals and appeared at two World Cups and a European Championship.

Leroy Sane is 29 years old today. The German international spent four years at Manchester City after signing from Schalke 04 where he won the Premier League twice, three FA Cups and a League Cup. He joined Bayern Munich in 2020 where he won the Bundesliga three times in his first three seasons at the club.
Sane has so far won 67 caps for Germany, finding the back of the net 14 times.

Spanish international Daniel Carvajal is 32 today. The Real Madrid right-back spent his youth career at Real Madrid but was signed by German side Bayer Leverkusen. After his only season in Germany, Real brought him back to the Bernabeu where he has won the Champions League six times and four La Liga titles.
