Good, Bad and Ugly kits from the past – Wimbledon

Good – home shirt 1987/88
If you mention the Wimbledon football team, chances are your mind goes back to the hot and sunny afternoon in May 1988 when they won the FA Cup.
The shirt was worn by the team referred to as the ‘Crazy Gang’ as they beat Liverpool, the League Champions by a goal from Lawrie Sanchez.

Bad – home shirt 1992/93
I struggled to find a shirt that could truly be defined as ‘Bad’ in Wimbledon’s history. I decided to go for a different reason why this shirt would feature in the ‘Bad’ category.
I chose this shirt as it was worn by Wimbledon when only 3,036 fans paid to watch them play in this shirt in a Premier League game against Everton. This remains the lowest attendance for a Premier League game and I doubt that the record will ever be broken!

Ugly – home shirt 2003/04
This is the last home shirt worn by Wimbledon before the team relocated to Milton Keynes. The shirt promotes the move to Milton Keynes and I shared the view of the Wimbledon fans who firmly opposed the move.
It is for that reason that this shirt falls into the ‘Ugly’ category.
