Good, Bad and Ugly kits from the past – Manchester City

Good – home shirt 2013/14
Nike started manufactured Manchester City’s shirts between 2013 and 2019 and this was the first shirt that Nike brought out.
This is my favourite Manchester City shirt as it is nice and simple with no fancy patterns on it. The white collar and cuffs had a nice dark blue trim which was the same colour as the Nike symbol and the sponsor across the shirt.

Bad – away shirt 1998/99
This shirt has become iconic now and is laughed at by opposing fans. During the 1998/99 season, City were down in Division Two (what is now League One) and were promoted via the play offs. They wore this iconic shirt in the Final which went down in history as they came from 2-0 down to score two goals in injury time to take the game to extra-time.
They eventually won the game on penalties and every time the game is replayed, City fans are reminded of this awful shirt!

Ugly – away shirt 1996/97
Manchester City have produced some dreadful kits. This isn’t opinion, it’s a fact! The 1990’s probably saw the worst of the lot and in my opinion, this is the worst of the lot!
Maroon and white in colour with the sponsors name across the middle of the shirt in yellow/orange text. I don’t think that many City fans will remember this one, but they probably won’t want to remember it either!
