Good, Bad and Ugly kits from the past – Macclesfield Town
Good – home shirt 1890/91
This shirt is fantastic! It must have looked amazing to have seen Macclesfield wear it back in the 1890/91 season. The saddest thing is that there are no colour photos of this this wonderful shirt.
Vertical red, yellow and blue stripes will probably never be seen again on a football pitch sadly.
Bad – away shirt 2018/19
Macclesfield have rarely had many bad shirts in their history.
I chose this as a bad design purely because I don’t think that black and grey should be the colours of a football shirt. They would look better on a goalkeeper’s shirt instead.
Ugly – away shirt 1993/94
The away shirt worn by Macclesfield Town was certainly memorable, but probably for the wrong reasons.
The design is horrible with strange patterns on the body of the yellow shirt and the blue v-neck looked terrible.
