Mason Mount is 26 today. The Manchester United midfielder has won 36 caps for England and scored five goals. He spent his youth career at Chelsea and scored on his home debut in August 2019.
Mount spent time on loan at Vitesse Arnhem and Derby County whilst at Chelsea, before joining Manchester United for £55 million in the summer of 2023.
Former Arsenal, Wolves, Charlton Athletic, Fulham and Barnsley midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong is 33 today. The Ghanaian made a total of sixteen appearances for Arsenal between 2011 and 2013 after graduating from the Academy team.
Today is Marouane Chamakh’s 41st birthday. Chamakh started his career at Girondins Bordeaux before Arsene Wenger brought him to Arsenal on a free transfer.
He was largely regarded as a failure by Arsenal fans, scoring just 14 time in 67 games. A loan to move to West Ham United before a permanent move to Crystal Palace, before the Morroccan ended his career with Cardiff City in 2016.
Former Liverpool academy graduate John Welsh turns 40 today. Welsh made his debut for the Reds in 2002 in the League Cup and made a total of ten appearances before signing for Hull City on a permanent deal after playing for them on loan in the 2005/06 season.
The midfielder won eight caps for the England Under-21s, scoring once. His only honour during his career was winning the League One Play-Offs with Preston North End, when the Lancashire club beat Swindon Town at Wembley.
