On This Day – 15th March
It was on this day back in 1892 that Liverpool Football Club were formed.
Everton had started by playing at Anfield but had a dispute with John Houlding, the stadium owner. They left and started to play their home matches at Goodison Park and have played their ever since.
After Everton upped sticks and moved to the other side of Stanley Park, Houlding was left with an empty stadium.
He decided to set up is own football club and Liverpool Football Club was born on this day.
The club have won many trophies in their history and the League Championship is the one that the fans have want the most in recent. They look almost set to win the title for the first time in thirty years and are two wins away from lifting the Premier League trophy.
