Heroes & Villains – Bournemouth
Hero – Harry Redknapp
Harry Redknapp played for four years at Bournemouth after moving from West Ham United.
He then cut his managerial teeth at Dean Court, managing the club between the years of 1983 and 1992.
In his first full season, Redknapp oversaw a giantkilling as Bournemouth beat FA Cup holders Manchester United 2-0 (You can read more about that game here). For this victory alone, Redknapp makes it onto my list as a Bournemouth hero.
Villain – Marcos Painter
I had a little browse around some Bournemouth fan forums and came across this player’s name.
Marcos Painter only made two appearances for The Cherries, featuring in the 2013/14 season when Bournemouth were in League One.
Despite only playing for the club twice, he made it onto the list of worst ever Bournemouth players. One fan referred to Painter as the worst professional that they had ever seen!
