Good, Bad and Ugly kits from the past – Tranmere Rovers
Good – home 1979/80
A strange choice this one. I chose this shirt because it is a rarity. Not many shirts have diagonal sashes on and this is the only shirt that I’ve seen where the sponsors name runs up the sash. It looks quite smart!
Bad – away shirt 1991 – 93
I really can’t understand the design on this shirt. The shirt would look fine without all the strange hortizontal dashes that look as if they have been scribbled on by a bored child!
When I looked into the history of this shirt, it seems as if it was only worn once, in a game where Tranmere lost away to Bristol Rovers.
Ugly – third shirt 1993 – 95
Yet again, a reasonably nice shirt ruined by the crazy decision to put a weird fuzzy pattern on the dark stripes. I suppose it was the 90’s and crazy patterns were commonplace in that decade!
