Good, Bad and Ugly kits from the past – Scunthorpe United
Good – away shirt 1994
Peterborough United had the same away shirt design and I rated it in the ‘Good’ section so who’s to get in the way of continuity!
The strips running vertically down this away shirt are yellow and Scunthorpe’s home colours maroon and sky blue.
Bad – away shirt 1992 – 94
There’s not a lot that can be said about this shirt at all other than I feel sorry for the Scunthorpe United fans who had to watch their heroes wearing it. At least the players were paid to wear it, the fans had to pay for the dubious privilege!
Ugly – home shirt 2019/20
This season’s home shirt is the same design as the United kit from the 1982/83 season and quite frankly, I think it looks awful.
Thin pinstripes in the bottom half of the shirt below a large V running from both shoulders to the chest is not a nice design at all!
The Irons should have learnt from their first shirt that the design is horrible and kept the design in the early 80’s! I have included an image of the 1982/83 shirt below:
