Good, Bad and Ugly kits from the past – Cheltenham Town

Cheltenham’s rather questionable kit launch for the 2014-15 season

Good – home shirt 2014/15
This shirt is probably one of the smartest kits that I’ve seen in recent years. Manufactured by the sports company Errea, the shirt was made up of black and white vertical stripes with a nice white collar. The sponsors on the front of the shirt is also presentable. The whole shirt oozes class.

Bad – home shirt 1995/96
This shirt was rather questionable to say the least. It was predominantly red with a double vertical white line sash down one side. There was one black sleeve and had a black and white collar.
On the red section of the shirt was the grey silhouette of a robin, presumably as Cheltenham Town are nicknamed ‘The Robins’!

Ugly – away shirt 1998/99
The vote for the ugly shirt in Cheltenham’s history is awarded to this blue, yellow and white away shirt from the Conference winning season of 1998/99.
The design is rather hap-hazard and doesn’t look like a football shirt, more one that might be seen on a rugby field instead.
