Andrei Shevchenko scored on his Chelsea debut on this day back in 2006, in a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Community Shield.
The Ukrainian striker joined Chelsea from AC Milan for £30 million and big things were expected of him because of his prolific goalscoring throughout his career.
Sadly for Shevchenko and Chelsea, he never brought his goalscoring boots with him to Stamford Bridge and he only managed to find the net four times in the Premier League in his first season.
In all, Shevchenko scored 23 times in 77 appearances for Chelsea and many fans consider him a flop.
Despite his relatively unsuccessful time at Chelsea, Shevchenko had a very prolific career, scoring a total of 342 goals in 704 games for various clubs. He also managed to score 48 goals in 111 appearances for the Ukrainian national team.
